Relic
Project Challenge:
The Relic Museum is a conceptual solution towards climate change awareness. The design positions itself as an architectural symbol of resilience, survival, optimism, art and learning for the planet. Located in Cairo Egypt, it's use a material such as limestone ties in with a ancient structures that fill this land. This coupled with some of the geometric and modern elements distinguish the design into something truly unique.
Design Solution:
The Relic museum compound is broken down into several elements which include a main entry, three exhibition wings, colonnade court, interior and surface garden spaces, a tower and an event space. The diversity of program allow the complex to serve numerous functions from exhibitions, events, concerts, dining, leisurely retreat.
Key Features:
Expansive complex communicating grandeur.
The "room of worlds" event space provides flexibility for exhibition and event space.
Vertical and horizontal procession.
Emphasis on exhibition spaces that teach and showcase information to future generations.
